An Estate Manager Is Reprimanded Over Neglected Canal Works

On October 11, 257 BC, Panacestor wrote to Cleon about irrigation works on the estate of Apollonius. He had requested a crew to construct bends in a canal and reprimanded Cleon for failing to supervise the work. The Greek letter preserves the managerial friction behind large agricultural infrastructure.
